Löysin tässä viimeisimpien UFF alepäivien aikaan kodin tekstiileistä tällaiset ihanat verhot ja ihastuin heti kuvioon, joten kotiinhan ne nappasin. Olin kerran aiemmin jo nähnyt samanlaisen verhon, missä oli eri kuvio, mutta niitä oli vain yksi ja harmitti hieman ettei kangasta ollut tarpeeksi mekkoa varten. No nyt oli! o(≧▽≦)o

Hi dearies ♡

I found these lovely curtains from a home textile section at charity shop UFF's recent sale and instantly fell in love with the pattern, so they came home with me. I had once already seen a same type of curtain, which had a different pattern, but there was only one and was too bad there wasn't enough for a dress. Well now there was! o(≧▽≦)o

Ideana mulla oli tehdä sellainen hyvin yksinkertainen mekko, missä olisi tuo kuvio-osa helmassa. Kangas on hyvin paksua, lämmintä ja painavaa, joten selvästi kylmän ajan mekko. Mekon toteutuksessa tuli vastaan joitakin ongelmia, sillä kuvio olikin pidempi, mitä aluksi ajattelin ja mekosta tuli hyvin pitkä. Aluksi suunnittelin laskoksia, mutta kuvio olisi mennyt hieman piiloon, joten tilalle tuli perus rypytys. Vyötärörypytys on hyvin muhkea ja täytyykin hieman kokeilla minkälainen alushame jaksaa kantaa tuon hameosan painon hyvin ja pitää muodon, ehkäpä pitkä a-linjainen tyllihame.

Inspiraationa kokonaisuuteen toimi renessanssi tyyli, linnanneitomaisuus, mori ja muutenkin luonnollisuus. Helman kuviota tasapainottamaan kirjoin pienen kuvion tuohon rintamukseen ja myös kaveriksi syntyneen french hood tyylisen päähineen reunaan. Tämä on kolmas kerta kun kirjon ylipäänsä, joten jälki on vähän sen mukainen, mutta harjoitusta harjoitusta! Kirjominen on mielenkiintoista, joten sitä olisi ihana oppia paremmin. ♥

I had an idea to make this very simple dress, which would have the pattern part at the hemline. The fabric is very thick, warm and heavy, so clearly a cold season dress. There was some issues that came along in the process, because the pattern was longer than I first thought and the dress became very long. At first I was planning to do pleats, but the pattern would have been ruined, so instead there is a basic gathers. The gathered waist is very bulky and I have to try which type of petticoat can carry well the weight of the skirt and keep the shape, perhaps a long a-line petticoat. 

As the inspiration for this whole thing was renaissance style, castle maiden, mori and anyways naturality. To balance the pattern of the skirt I did a little embroidery to the chest and also to the edge of the headpiece I made to accompany the dress. This is my third time doing embroidery, so it kind of looks like it, but practice practice! Embroidery is very intriguing, so would be great to learn it better. ♥

With the new dress I was wearing a new wig! (⌒▽⌒)♡

The wig is a straight blonde wig with bangs and a side parting. It's absolutely wonderful! It reminds me of my own hair when I was a teenager, although I grew out my bangs when I was 14-years-old. Jos seurailette mun muita some-kanavia, niin voi olla että ootte jo joihinkin näihin kuviin törmännytkin. Tiedän et olen hieman jäljessä mun postauksissa, monta vaikuttavaa asiaa, mutta täältä minä näitä laittelen tulemaan pikkuhiljaa. (⌒▽⌒)☆

Sain viime vuoden puolella viestiä olisinko kiinnostunut jonkinlaisella historiahenkisellä tyylillä kuvauksista vanhojen kirjojen ja kirjahyllyn kanssa. No toki! Sain tästä hyvän potkun vihdoin väkertää pitkään unelmana ollut viktoriaaninen asu. Mun pitkän sairastelun vuoksi siirrettiin kuvauksia vähän pidemmälle, mutta saatiin sitten toteutettua. Otin haasteen vastaan ja väkersin tämän samettiasun, oli se kyllä aika seikkailu!

If you are following my other social media channels, then it's possible that you have seen some of these photos earlier. I know I'm a bit behind with my posts, many effecting things, but little by little I'll be posting these here. (⌒▽⌒)☆

Last year I got a message if I were interested with some kind of historical vibed style to model with old books and a bookshelf. Well of course! I got a good kick to finally make a long wanted dream, a victorian outfit. Because of me being sick for a long time, we postponed the photoshoot a little bit, but finally got it done. I accepted the challenge and made this velvet outfit, it was quite an adventure!

Asun kankaiksi valitsin tädin yli 30 vuotta vanhat samettiverhot! Ne oli hengaillu mulla viime kesästä asti ja mietiskelin tekisinkö niistä lolitamekon vai jotain muuta. Viktoriaaninen päiväasu oli täydellinen valinta. Lisäksi käytin vanhaa lakanaa vuorikankaana, mun vanhan kesämekon pitsejä, sekä kierrätettyjä nappeja. 

Inspirattioksi selailin tuhansia kuvia viktoriaanisista vaatteista ja mietiskelin minkälaista lähtisin toteuttaaman, olin ihan omissa eleganssimaailmoissa kaikista niistä upeista vaatteista. Ideana oli tehdä klassisen yksinkertaista, ei mitään prameaa, ainakaan vielä. Kaavat ja ompelu oli todella haastavaa! Jokainen työ on oma prosessinsa ja kaavojen pähkäily se vaikein vaihe. Vois joskus kyllä käyttää ihan valmiskaavoja. Yläosan muoto ja sen ajan tyyliset kaavat tuotti paljon ongelmia, mutta sovelsin kuten yleensä ja oikeasti todella ylpeä itsestäni, että sain noinkin sopivan yläosan väkerrettyä. Asusta halusin tehdä myös sellaisen, mitä käytetään ilman korsettia, että siinä voi oikeasti oleilla vaikka koko päivän ja silti olla mukavasti. 

As the fabric of the outfit I chose my aunt's over 30-year-old velvet curtains! They had been in my closet since last summer and was wondering if I were to make a lolita dress out of them or something else. A Victorian daytime outfit was a very good choice. Also I used an old sheet as lining fabric, my old summer dress's lace and recycled buttons. 

For inspiration I browsed thousands of pictures of 19th century clothing and was wondering what kind of style would go for, was totally in my own elegant world bubble from all the gorgeous clothing. The idea was to make classic and simple, nothing too fancy, at least not yet. The patterns and sewing was very challenging! Every piece is their own process and figuring out the patterns is the hardest one. Could sometime actually use ready made patterns. The shape of the upper part and the patterns of the era gave much trouble for me, but I gave it my touch and made it work. I'm actually quite proud of myself to have made it even that much fitting. I also wanted to make the outfit to use without a corset, so that I can wear it all day long and still be comfortable.

Me kuvattiin itseasiassa kuvaajan kotona, heidän olohuoneessaan. Hyllyssä oli todella ihastuttavia vanhoja, siis oikeasti vanhoja kirjoja. Vanhin jopa 1700-luvulta! Selailin niitä historiarakkauden kiilto silmissä. Oijjoi mitä herkkua ♡

Monessa historiallisessa aikakaudessa on paljon ihanaa ja rakastettavaa, pukuhistorian lisäksi on niin paljon muutakin upeaa, kuten arkkitehtuuri, etiketti, ajan henki ja paljon muuta. Viktoriaanisessa naisten pukeutumisessa rakastan sitä eleganssia ja klassista naisellisuutta. Silloin oli erityisiä tapoja noudatettavana (no oikeasti vähän liikaakin) ja arvostettiin käyttäytymistä. Varakkaiden elämässä oli sellaista ylpeyttä ja ryhtiä. Pyllyhameet on myös aivan ihania! Hihih~ ♡

We actually had the photoshoot at the photographer's house, in their livingroom. On the bookshelf there were the most wonderful old books. The oldest dating back to 18th century! I was browsing them with a history loving glare in my eyes. Oooh what a treat ♡

In many historical periods there are lots of lovely and lovable, addition to costume history there are many other things gorgeous, like architecture, etiquette, the feeling of the time and loads of others. In the way victorain ladies used to dress I love the elegance and classic femininity. At the time there were certain manners to follow (well a bit too much really) and well behaving was highly valued. There were a kind of pride and posture in the life of the wealthy. Butt skirts are also absolutely adorable! Hihih~ ♡

🌼 Story of a mori girl dress 🌼

Ensinnäkin, kiitos niin niin paljon rakkaat ja ihanaiset ihmiset kaikesta vertaistuesta ja tsempistä aiempaan postuakseen. Ootte aivan mahtavia! 💝 

Eilen tuli ihan metsän otus fiilis ja muuntauduin sitten tämmöiseksi luonnonlapseksi. Pukeuduin ensimmäistä kertaa kunnolla mun muokkaamaan kettu pellavamekkoon, mikä on ihanan pehmeä ja mukava päällä. Sain innostuksen tehdä myös pisamia, ne on niin söpöjä! Yleensä vaan ihmiset kenellä on pisamia, ei haluais niitä ja ne kenellä ei ole, niin haluais. Mulla on vähän nenässä, ne on näin talvella ihan haaleita kylläkin. Nyt teki mieli saada pisamanassu keskellä talvea, joten lähdin sitten testailemaan mitä saan aikaiseksi. （*＾◡＾*)

First of all, thank you so so much dearies and lovely people of all the love and support for the previous post. You are absolutely awesome! 💝

Yesterday I got a feeling to be a woodland creature and then I transformed into this kind of nature child. It was the first time properly dressing up into a fox linen dress I have altered. It's lovely and soft and comfy to wear. I got excited to do freckles as well, they are so cute! Usually people who have them, don't want them and those who don't have them, would like some. I have a little bit of them on my nose, they are quite pale though during winter. Now I felt like being a freckled girl in the middle of the winter, so I started to play and see what I can come up with. （*＾◡＾*)

Eilen oli siis morityttö päivä, rento metsäinen ja kerrostettu hippityttö-päivä. Oon siitä ennenkin sanonu, mutta mun mielestä mori girl -tyyli tai mori kei, eli metsätyttö tyyli on aivan ihanaa, koska se yhdistää luonnonläheistä hippimäistä keijutyyliä ja feminiinisiä röyhelöitä. Siinä yhdistyy mun kaksi ääripäätä, se puskassa hyppivä luontotyttö ja materiaalisesta kauneudesta pitävä asuilija. 

So yesterday was a mori girl day, a comfy wooded and layered hippie girl -day. I have said it before, but I think morigirl -style or mori kei or forest girl style is absolutely wonderful, because it combines nature-like faerie style and feminine frills. It's a combination of my two extremity, the nature girl frolicking in the bushes and the material beauty loving dress up girl.

Mun pellavainen kettumekko on alunperin UFF:n lastenpuolelta napattu pellavamekko kokoa 164 cm ja se maksoi hurjat 2€. Pikaisesti peilin edessä katselin, että kyllä se mahtuu päälla ja niin se lähti kotiin mukaan. Kotona kokeilin sitä päälle ja se ihan melkein istui hyvin, tarvitsisi vain pieniä muutoksia. Mekko odotteli hetken muiden ompelujuttujen seurassa, kunnes yksi päivä tyttäreni ollessa päiväkodissa otin mekon pikkuprojektiksi.

My linen foxdress is originally from a second hand shop's children's section a size 164 cm flax dress and it cost mighty 2€. Quickly looked in front of a mirror, that yeah it fits and so it came home with me. At home I tried it on and it was almost fitting well, just needed a little bit of altering. The dress was waiting for a while in the company of other sewing thingies, until one day when my daughter was in the daycare I started the dress as a little project.

Btw..if I could, I would always have bare feet. It's such freedom and I love it!

Ensin valitsin sopivan pitsin ja muut materiaalit. 

First I chose the suitable lace and other materials.

Sitten oli vuoro poistaa ei toivotut osat: vyö ja olkaimet. Vyö lähti helposti ratkojalla, sivuille jäi reijät, jotka ompelin sitten kiinni.

Then it was time to remove unwanted parts: the belt and shoulder straps. The belt and shoulder straps. The belt was easy to remove with seam ripper, there were holes left to the sides, of which I then fixed.

Olkaimien kanssa joutui ratkomaan useamman sauman ja huomasin, ettei sisäsaumaa ollut huoliteltu kunnolla. Sain senkin sitten fiksattua.

Had to unpick several seams for the shoulder stratps and noticed, that the inner seam was not done properly. Got to fix it too while was at it.

Mulla on järkyttävät kasat kankaita ja siellä seassa jämäpala tämmöistä vaaleaa puuvilla-pellavaa. Siitä leikkasin kaitaleen helmaan ja olkaimet.

I have enormous piles of fabric and there I had this leftover piece of cotton-linen. From that I cut a strip for the hemline and the shoulder straps

Olin saanut lahjaksi joskus kettunauhaa ja sehän sopi tähän täydellisesti! Sitä oli vieläpä sentilleen tasan se määrä, mitä käytin yläreunaan ja helmaan. Ei senttiäkään yli tai ali. 

I had gotten fox ribbon as a gift some time and it was perfect for this! There was even the precisely right amount, of which I used for the top and hemline. Not a centimeter more or less.

Kaikki nämä pienet muutokset mekko sai:

✿ Postettu vyö ja olkaimet
✿ Uudet olkaimet
✿ Yläreunaan kettunauha ja puuvillabrodyyri
✿ Alareunaan kettunauha, puuvillabrodyyri ja kangaskaitale
✿ Kavennusta vyötärölle

The dress got all of these little alterations:

✿ Removed belt and shoulder straps
✿ New shoulder straps
✿ Fox ribbon and cotton embroidery lace for the top
✿ Fox ribbon, cotton embroidery lace and a strip of fabric for the bottom
✿ Narrowing for the waist

Olin ihan morityttö haltija metsäotus menninkäinen tai jotain sellaista. Haluisin pitää noita korvissa koko ajan. Ihan mahtava idea! Tein niistä vielä pienen hassun videonkin, jonka laitan youtubeen, kunhan saan sen editoitua. Mun kanava ja aiemmat videot löytyy >täältä<. (＾-＾)

I was also playing with my new lovelies: Elf ear headphones !! 💖

So  I was like a mori girl elf woodland creature or something like that. Would like to wear the ears all the time. Such a fabulous idea! I even made a little funny video about them, which I'll be posting on youtube, once I get it edited. My channel and previous videos are found >here<. (＾-＾)

Throwback to 2008 lolita style ❤ Black and white cat coord

Tampereella järjestettiin Suomen suurin käsityöalan tapahtuma; Kädentaidot -messut, missä kävi viikonlopun aikana melkein 45000 ihmistä!! Olin onnekas ja sain yhden sisäänpääsylipun Millalta, joka tekee Talking to Myself koruja ja asusteita. Kiitos ihanainen, oli kiva tulla moikkaan ja päästä käymään. Messuilla näkee niin upeita taitajia ja vaikka mitä ihania materiaaleja. Harmi että olin ihan minimibudjetilla, mutta löysin esim mestan missä oli monta pöydällistä kirjoja ja kaikki 2€ kpl!! :D

Kädentaitomessut innosti laittamaan päälle jotain itsetehtyä, piti myös huomioida sää (satoi vettä) ja laittaa sen mukaiset kengät. Tuli tällainen usean vuoden takaiset lolivibat omaava mustavalkoinen kissa-asu. Tulee elävästi mieleen sellainen noin vuosi 2008, kun oli tämän tyylisiä mekkoja ja tyyliä muutenkin. Tyylillä leikkiminen on vaan niin kivaa!

There was the biggest handicraft event of Finland in Tampere just recently; Finnish Craft & Design fair, where there was almost 45000 visitors over the weekend!! I was lucky and got an entrance ticket from Milla, who makes Talking to Myself jewelry and accessories. Thank you sweetie, was lovely to come see you and to visit the fair. At the event there are so much amazing craftsmanship and so many wonderful materials. Too bad I was with a minimum budget, but I found this place where they had several tables full of books and all 2€ a piece!! :D

The craft & design fair got me feeling like wearing something handmade, also had to take in consideration of the weather (it was raining) and wear appropriate shoes. This outfit became a black and white cat -outfit with lolivibes from many years back. It reminds of somewhere around the year 2008, when this sort of dresses and style was around. Playing with style is so much fun! 

Olen alkanut laittamaan hiuskampausta ylös, tällä kertaa tein GLW Rhapsody peruukkiin kaksi lettiä ja niistä sellaiset kiekurat ylös. Huomannut että helpottaa tosi paljon kylmänä kautena kerrospukeutumisen kanssa, kun on kaulahuivi, huppari tai neule tms ja vielä takki päällä. Säästyy turhilta takuilta! Suosittelen 💗

Sai muuten todella paljon aivain ihastuttavia kommentteja messuilla, niistä tulee aina hyvä mieli. Sanottiin nukeksi ja kehuttiin tyyliä ja asua ja sain höpötellä siitäkin jälleen, että mistä näitä tämmöisiä vaatteita ja asusteita saa. Messujen jälkeen, kun kävin moikkaamassa kaveria, niin samaisessa pöydässä sellainen hieman olueen menevä jonkinlainen rokkari hippi tiesi, että tän tyylin nimi on lolita. Kysyi silleen varovaisesti ja varmasti näki mun ilmeestä, että olin super positiivisesti yllättynyt kun joku tietää. (*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)

I have been starting to wear my hair up, this time I made two braids with GLW Rhapsody wig and from those a some sort of bun twirls. I have noticed that it's really helpful layers during a cold season, then there's a scarf, a hoodie or a cardigan and a coat on top of that. There's no unnecessary tangles! Highly recommending 💗

By the way I got so many absolutely adorable comments at the fair, they always give such good vibes. I was called a doll and complimented about the style and outfit and got to talk about it again where these clothes and accessories are gotten from. After the fair, when I went to see a friend of mine, there was this beer drinking a bit hippy and rocker style guy at the same table and he knew that the this style is called lolita. He asked about it a bit carefully and definitely saw from my face, that I was super positively surprised, that someone knows. (*ﾟ▽ﾟ*)

Purr purr miau~ kissoja, kissoja ja lisää kissoja! Sopii täydellisesti kissahöpön tyyliin. 🐈

Mekossa ja pienessä puolibonnetissa on harmaita kissoja, silti mekon nimi on Mustan Kissan Tango, korvakoruja somistaa musta kissa, sormuksen pienessä mustakehyksisessä taulussa on kissoja ja kaulakorussa ihanainen edesmennyt Albi-kissa, joka oli vanha herra kissakahvilassa. Tuntuu hyvältä kantaa pientä muistoesinettä tästä ihanasta persoonasta.

Purr purr meow~ cats, cats and more cats! Perfectly fitting for a cat lady style. 🐈

The dress and the small halfbonnet has grey cats, still the dress is called Black Cat's Tango, the earrings are decorated with a black cat, the black framed ring has kitty cats and there's the old mister of the cat cafe, lovely Albi-cat, who has already passed away. Feels good to carry a memory piece of  this lovely personality.
